Description

Barbados cherry is a large, bushy shrub or small tree attaining up to 20 ft in height with erect spreading, minutely hairy branches and a short trunk. Evergreen leaves are elliptic and somewhat wavy. The flowers have 5 pink or lavender, spoon-shaped, fringed petals. Fruits borne singly or in 2's or 3's in the leaf axils, are around and cherry-like but lobed, bright-red, with a thin, glossy skin and orange-color are sweet and juicy.
